Department Overview:
The Software Integration Team are responsible for driving the delivery of programme content and providing control and governance to the software change management process, including the testing and error tracking function.
Job Purpose:
Manage and support overall coordination of all software releases - ensuring compliance to UNECE R156 – Software Update Management System across all Aston Martin programmes
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all AML software releases including control over HW, SW, Coding
- Manages and maintains Software Platform planning across all active programmes to meet all programme milestones
- Responsible for the implementation and management of the Software Release process
- Creation and maintenance of software release automation framework
- Manages Jira lifecycle adherence across all active projects
- Responsible for adherence to R156 related process across the department and wider business.
- Chair and lead the Software Update Change Control Board.
- Develop streamlined R156 related processes to ensure efficiency and reliability.
- Support all SUMS concern escalations and ensure timely resolution.
- Represents Software Integration in Engineering and Legislation and Compliance reviews.
- Collate and present all R156 related concerns or changes to SUMS Steering committee.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience of working in a technical automotive electrical or software application role. Experience of complex hybrid vehicles is a benefit.
- Experience of automotive architectures and communication protocols like CAN, LIN, Flexray, Ethernet.
- In depth knowledge of UNECE R156 – Software Update Management System regulation with demonstratable experience in its application within an OEM environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing diagnostic procedures centered around Software downloads and EOL completion
- Understanding of the principles of systems engineering.
- Strong project management experience.
- Good level of knowledge of automotive diagnostics standards (UDS, ISO 14229, DOIP) and diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of, or experience in delivering Electrical or Electronics commodities (HD & SW).
- Knowledge of Product Development Cycle from concept to launch completion.
- Strong understanding of automotive legislation and certification requirements related to the EE domain.
- Experience of automotive pre-production build environments.
- Experience of Electrical Engineering vehicle fleet support.
- Experience in designing and managing EE Architecture deliveries (Networks/Requirements)
- Knowledge of automotive development systems e.g. releasing, concerns, containments, gateways and sign off documentation.
- Understanding of ODX (ISO 22901).
- Development of a wide range of test properties such as rigs and lab cars, including HV.
- Supplier management experience.
- Technical engineering background and a knowledge of using calculation and analysis to drive design.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing processes to create and assemble components or systems.
- Knowledge of automotive quality tools and processes.
- BEng/BSc in Electrical/Electronic discipline and/or Automotive Engineering
