Aston Martin’s After Sales organization strives to deliver the quintessential global Aston Martin customer experience through 6 strategic pillars: Perfect delivered quality, fixed-right, first time, every time, drive customer demand, high performance culture, clear policy & process, and data-led decision making. The Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) is uniquely placed to play a key role in all 6 pillars.

 

Job Purpose: 

In this newly created role, the Head of Quality is responsible for all inbound and outbound quality operations within the PDC and for leading and implementing quality assurance and control programs across all warehousing and distribution operations.


This role ensures compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements and customer expectations, while driving continuous improvement in processes and systems and the management and ownership of critical KPI’s. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, operational expertise and expert coach to motivate team to create a Quality “Centre of Excellence” within Parts Operations.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

Operational Excellence:-
▪ Define & implement a Total Parts Distribution Strategy, encompassing the key performance indicators
ensure a positive customer experience (incl. Dealer), right first-time ideology, improvements in operations
measured through accuracy & reliability, and a comprehensive process improvement plan.
▪ Management of operations with strong adherence to quality and safety standards.
▪ Through continuous improvement methodologies identify opportunities to improve warehouse and
distribution operations to enhance quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
▪ Management of Inbound Supplier Quality function and associated processes
▪ Work with Aftermarket procurement teams on supplier quality actions.
▪ Develop and lead initiatives to reduce waste, improve accuracy, minimize errors in order fulfilment and
inventory management.
▪ Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular detailed reports & action plans, seeking
cross-functional support where required.
▪ Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality incidents, deviations, or non-conformances.
▪ Creation of outbound quality function responsible for all outbound quality processes and associated metrics
▪ Ownership of Non-warranty returns (picking/packing issues)/Lost Time reduction.
▪ Reduction in operational costs relating to process deficiency (QDC)
▪ Management of customer feedback & reviews and presentation of data
▪ Dual ownership of packaging requirements and processes in conjunction with Head of Warehouse and
Logistics
▪ Operational liaison with distribution partners monitoring performance relating to damaged consignments
▪ Site Quality management through Health/Safety & compliance, facilities & environmental (ISO 9001,
ISO14001)

▪ Partner with cross-functional teams including Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain and Customer Service

Experience and Qualifications

  • Excellent supply-chain experience, with specific B2B &/B2C expertise
  • Strong and proven business acumen skills, & proficient with business data, performance metrics & budgeting
  • Experience in leading transformation or innovation in a relevant sector
  • High caliber interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across the business
  •  Good understanding of a commercial organization and business processes through global, regional, or
    retail/commercial roles
  •  Quality tools Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizan etc.
  • Experience of delivering through management in a fast paced, multi- product global warehouse operation

 

Preferred: 

  • OEM headquarter experience
  • Premium/Luxury automotive experience
  • ERP implementation experience
  • Experience & knowledge of the after sales environment
  • Managing supplier
  • Educated to Degree level desired but not essential
