At Aston Martin, our vehicles are defined by exceptional design, innovation and performance. Behind every new model is a team of specialists ensuring that world-class engineering is delivered in a commercially sustainable way. As a Programmes Cost Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping future vehicle programmes by influencing design decisions, identifying cost opportunities, and supporting the delivery of profitable growth.
The Programmes Cost Engineering team is responsible for setting and achieving forward model vehicle material and investment cost targets. Acting as the link between the core Cost Engineering function and the wider business, the team provides clear direction across programme activities, influences technical solutions, and supports engineering teams in delivering cost-effective products without compromising quality, performance or brand DNA.
Working within a dynamic and cross-functional environment, you will represent Cost Engineering throughout the wider programme community, providing valuable insight and analysis to support critical business decisions. You will conduct competitor benchmarking studies, coordinate the teardown and costing of key vehicle commodities, track and report should-cost performance, and facilitate Design to Cost workshops that drive value throughout the product development cycle. You will also contribute to the development of parametric costing tools and work closely with specialist consultants to enhance cost modelling capability and support strategic programme objectives.
To be successful in this role, you will possess strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to interpret and manage complex data sets while communicating findings clearly to a broad range of stakeholders. You will bring a background in finance, programme management or engineering and be comfortable working within a collaborative, team-focused environment where influencing and coordination are key. Strong IT skills are essential, particularly in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, alongside a structured approach to data management and reporting.
