The Role
As a Technician, Torque Assurance, you will be responsible for supporting all torque-related activities across the production environment. Your primary focus will be ensuring there are no torque-related quality escapes from site by conducting audits, analysing results and supporting investigations when issues arise.
You will carry out torque audits, report non-compliant measurements, support risk assessments and assist with root cause investigations. Working closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production and Quality teams, you will help drive corrective actions through to completion while maintaining accurate records within torque audit systems.
The role also involves supporting calibration activities to ensure measurement equipment and tooling are maintained, accurate and ready for use. There may be occasional travel between Aston Martin sites to support operational requirements and share best practice.
What You'll Be Doing
You will support production teams with torque-related concerns, complete torque audits across the manufacturing process, report and escalate non-compliant results, assist with investigations and corrective actions, maintain audit records and databases, and help ensure all measuring equipment remains fully calibrated and compliant.
Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including Manufacturing Engineering, Vehicle Line Quality, Production, Research & Development and New Model Quality teams, to maintain the highest standards of product quality and process control.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a motivated individual with a strong understanding of torque principles and mechanical joint integrity. You should have experience working with bolted joint assembly processes, associated tooling and measurement equipment, alongside a good understanding of residual torque measurement methods.
You will be comfortable identifying process improvement opportunities and possess strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel. A proactive approach to problem solving, excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential.
Experience with tooling calibration methods, statistical analysis of torque data and torque audit systems such as Crane would be advantageous. A mechanical engineering qualification is desirable but not essential.
