Department Overview

The Quality Strategy & Systems team exists to drive clarity, consistency, and control across Aston Martin’s Quality function by centralising the systems, information flows, and reporting.

 

Job Purpose 

This role will be responsible for the development and maintenance of data infrastructure that supports the centralisation of KPIs, creation of clear reporting pathways, and alignment of data across the department as directed by the Quality & Systems Business Planning Manager. The role will lead the design and implementation of systems and tools that connect fragmented data into one cohesive source of truth, supporting transparency, governance, and performance management.

This role holder will work closely with the IT team to follow the agreed ways of working and collaborate on the use of data sets. IT remain the data custodians and the Quality team will translate the data for use by the business.

 

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Design and maintain robust, automated data flows across Quality systems and sources, ensuring reliability, security, and consistency of data.
  • Create clear data architecture that defines the flow of information from source systems to reports and dashboards.
  • Lead the centralisation of all Quality department KPIs into a unified reporting system or dashboard.
  • Work with Quality leads and stakeholders to define, align, and continuously improve KPI definitions, targets, and visualisations.
  • Ensure cross-functional data compatibility and integrity by implementing standard data models and definitions.
  • Act as the key contact for connecting operational, compliance, and performance data into a cohesive reporting structure.
  • Deliver high-quality, automated reporting that transforms raw data into actionable insights for internal teams and executive leadership.
  • Lead end-to-end AI & Intelligence initiatives, from ideation and data assessment to model development, deployment, and performance monitoring.

 

Experience and qualifications

Essential experience

  • Significant experience in data systems, quality systems, or business planning within a complex engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience developing data pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems, data architecture, and quality information management.
  • Advanced skills in data analytics, reporting, and visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python).
  • Proven experience developing automated escalation or alerting systems based on data insights.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.

Preferred experience

  • Familiarity with automotive quality systems and reporting.
  • Experience building end-to-end procedures and supporting systems.
  • Experience in change management, digital transformation, or enterprise system deployment.
  • Knowledge of machine learning or advanced analytics for defect detection and predictive insights.

Essential Education/ Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Sciences, or a related field. (Or equivalent experience)

Preferred Education/ Qualifications

Advanced Qualifications in Tableau, Power BI, or other visualisation systems.

Advanced Qualification in data engineering, pipelines or transformation.
