The role of the Marketing and Communications department is to enhance the awareness and desirability of our brand and products on a global scale across key target markets, to drive increased demand and sales, and build long lasting connections with new and existing customers to make Aston Martin a top of mind choice.

 

Job purpose

The post-holder will support Aston Martin’s communications function, playing an important role in the planning, activation, and evaluation of global brand PR activities, in addition to assisting the wider Marketing and Communications team with product, corporate and internal communications activities. The Press Officer’s remit will include – but not be limited to – product launch campaigns, lifestyle media events and activation of brand partnerships.

 

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Manage PR projects and campaigns from planning through to execution and evaluation, including dedicated strategies for key news announcements, products and events
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with members of the international, national, and regional lifestyle media
  • Oversee the flow of brand news, maintaining an always-on brand communications plans and working with senior colleagues to ensure that press releases are on track – from initial drafting, through to senior approvals and press distribution
  • Assist with international liaison; assist in coordination and deployment of communications plans on a regional basis – ensuring global consistency of message and process-driven regional coordination
  • Work closely with other press officers to ensure maximum synergies and consistency and coordination of global departmental messages
  • Work with appointed agencies to effectively monitor and evaluate Aston Martin media coverage on a global basis, holding responsibility for delivery of regular reports and best-in-class PR and earned social measurement
  • Support global brand partnerships activations, working in partnership with the licensing team
  • Support PR activities and events, playing a key role in the organization of logistical elements and working with colleagues, other departments, and agencies on-the-ground to ensure smooth and successful activations
  • Work alongside Lifestyle Communications Manager to maximize media coverage for the brand in the lifestyle sector on a global basis; forge new non-traditional relationships
  • Implement creative and innovative activities in the lifestyle segment targeting a broad range of audiences
  • Coordinate relevant media factory visits and/or drive events
  • Help to expand Aston Martin’s network of media and social influencers, building new relationships and driving advocacy for the brand
  • Support the delivery of Aston Martin Magazine, including collaboration on editorial strategy, internal and external promotion within key Aston Martin channels and ensuring timely distribution to Aston Martin stakeholders

 

Experience and qualifications

Essential experience

  • Professional experience of operating in a communications role within a brand or PR agency
  • Experience of working alongside media and influencers
  • Project management experience of independently planning and overseeing specific projects, content shoots or campaigns
  • Understanding of media measurement and evaluation best practice, including production of reports
  • Working knowledge of planning and managing media events, content shoots and product launches
  • Strong writing and document presentation skills, including ability to write news and press releases
  • Excellent knowledge of the media landscape
  • Familiarity with working with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Understanding of new media and non-traditional media platforms

Preferred experience

  • Experience of working in the automotive or luxury industries
  • Knowledge of the Aston Martin brand
  • Established relationships with media and social media influencers
  • Experience of managing external agencies
  • Familiarity with operating press release distribution tools and content management systems
  • Experience of working in high pressurized environments working to tight deadlines
