Job purpose
The Project Leader supports individual vehicle projects from product definition to Start of Production (SOP). They coordinate cross-functional teams, track progress, and manage scope, timing, cost, quality, and resources to meet project objectives, while supporting Programme Managers and senior stakeholders.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Coordinate programme gateways, track deliverables, and prepare gateway evidence packs for review.
- Monitor and drive resolution of actions from PST meetings.
- Manage the creation of programme SEL and PDL documents as directed by the Senior Programme Manager and ensure product definition documents (PMXU) are up to date.
- Develop commodity and release plans, including Engineering Timing Release Schedules (ETRS), and monitor deviations.
- Support programme cost management, including target setting, cost reviews, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Lead BOM-to-CAD alignment exercises and virtual series events, ensuring integration with programme plans.
- Monitor commodity plans and act on deviations to establish and recommend appropriate recovery actions.
- Assist in defining overall programme timing plans, integrating launch points, commodity schedules, and prototype builds.
- Manage concern resolution via the change management system, tracking metrics and escalating as needed.
- Support prototype and vehicle build planning, including specifications, BOMs, and commodity plans.
- Act as deputy to the Programme Manager when required, and lead minor model programmes with financial and delivery responsibility.
Experience and qualifications
Essential experience
- Automotive or Mechanical Engineering Degree or extensive relevant experience.
- Whole vehicle or complex system programme coordination / management experience.
- Extensive knowledge of product development / creation systems.
- Experience in component design, development and sign off.
- Expert user of Microsoft Office tools particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
- Confident and authoritative presentation skills.
Additional information
Flexibility on start and finish times due to events and different locations is required.
The post-holder will be required to travel to other Aston Martin sites, so a valid, current driving license is essential.
