JOB PURPOSE:
To be a member of the Valhalla team and support daily build operations across build stations responsible to the Group Leader ensuring the highest quality of work.
Grade: B Grade
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out work in line with the process and Standards required using the EASE system across build stations.
- Escalation of EASE issues when identified as part of trial build, identify missing processes/details from the EASE.
- Ensure work is conducted to the required quality VIS Standards.
- Report issues to the Product Coach/Launch Leader when issues discovered.
- Contribute to problem solving around containments of build issues.
- Support with Engineers for raising of issues impacting build, offering potential solutions or implement fixes.
- Assist with Trial fit activities.
- Escalation of parts shortages as and when found, or in advance of build.
- Training main line technicians on new models, following EASE process with support.
- Assist of prove out of new equipment and tooling.
- Support with catch back of parts and missed processes.
- Carbon fibre work.
- Carry out RIS work on vehicles waiting PTS.
- Adhere to risk assessment and H&S regulations.
- Ensure work is completed within cycle time.
- Support quality, productivity and process improvement initiatives.
- Store controlled substances/components into correct track side location.
- Adhere to company housekeeping policy.
- Carry out FLM and Lean activities (5S and first line maintenance of tooling etc).
- Support the wider team during down time as appropriate to skillset.
- Successful candidates will be required to support/work in other areas as may be necessary.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Completion of an appropriate automotive apprenticeship in a relevant discipline (city & guilds level 2 + or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
- Previous experience of working within the automotive industry is essential.
- Working knowledge of all stages of build.
- Mid- Engine rear wheel drive experience.
- Manual dexterity, mechanical/quality aptitude.
- Able to train others on process and job role requirements.
- Can do attitude, determination to see the task through to completion at the right quality level.
- Team oriented.
- Accountable and demonstrates initiative.
- Reliable and efficient.
- Ability to work using own initiative.
- Ability to read, interpret and work to engineering drawings /process sheets.
- Computer literate advantageous.
- This is a role that is track tied and requires the incumbent to be on their feet for the entirety of the shift.
- Flexibility to work shift patterns, overtime, weekends to achieve production targets.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

Volume protection contractual overtime arrangements are in place to ensure required production demands can be met. Stand up and stand down balances are managed as part of each employees Working Time Account (WTA).
All production employees are required to align with fixed holidays throughout the year in line with production shutdowns. Your annual leave ‘floating days’ are on a pro-rota basis based on your start date and can be taken outside of those shutdowns.
