EDS Project Engineer

Apply now Job no: 511286
Work type: Full Time - Permanent
Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire
Categories: Electrical

Are you passionate about automotive technology and eager to make a significant impact?

As our next EDS Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving how our vehicle harnesses are designed, constructed, and brought to life. You’ll lead projects with precision and creativity, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget while supporting our commitment to innovation and excellence.

In this role, you will oversee the design and development of vehicle harnesses, acting as the technical expert and primary point of contact for any harness-related queries or issues. You’ll collaborate closely with a diverse team remotely and in the office to manage projects from concept to delivery. This includes working with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and execution. Your ability to anticipate and resolve challenges will be key to keeping our projects on track and maintaining the smooth operation of our production processes.

To excel as an EDS Engineer at Aston Martin, you need a deep passion for detail, especially in circuits and components. You enjoy getting into the intricacies of complex systems and take pride in solving problems before they arise. With your strong communication skills and ability to set clear boundaries, you’ll build effective relationships with team members and stakeholders, ensuring everyone is aligned and working towards the same goals. An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to drive initiatives independently are essential, as this role requires someone who can think on their feet and adapt to evolving project needs.

While a degree is preferred, it’s not essential if you have significant experience in automotive EDS design, development, and manufacturing. We’re looking for someone with hands-on expertise in vehicle electrical systems and components and a proven track record of delivering successful EDS projects. Experience in harness reworks and vehicle circuits and familiarity with DFMEA reviews and CAD tools (both 2D and 3D) will be valuable. Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards is also crucial to ensuring that our projects meet the highest industry benchmarks.

This full-time role is based at our Gaydon site and has a flexible hybrid work arrangement. You’ll enjoy a balanced schedule of three days on-site and two days working from home, giving you the best of both worlds. Our working hours offer a fantastic work-life balance, running Monday to Thursday from 07:30 to 16:30 and an early finish on Fridays from 07:30 to 12:30, giving you the perfect start to your weekends.

At Aston Martin, we’re more than just a brand – we’re a team. We take pride in our legacy but always look forward and embrace new ideas and perspectives.
